The Doctors
Dr.
Jeff Malone, a Tuscaloosa native, is a graduate of the University
of
Alabama, receiving Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in
Microbiology.
He received his M.D. from the University of Alabama School of Medicine
after which he completed an internship and pediatric residency at The
Children's
Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Malone began his practice
in Bessemer
following residency and moved the practice to the current location in
Hoover
in 1995. He has a particular interest in pediatric
gastroenterology, allergy,
and infectious diseases. He is a board certified pediatrician and
a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He and his wife,
Frances, are the parents of twin boys and a girl. Dr. Malone is a
golfer,
a singer, and a computer nerd.
Dr. Amy Albert is a native of West Virginia. After
completing her undergraduate training at Washington and Lee University
in Lexington, Virginia, she returned to her home state to complete
medical school at West Virginia University. She received her pediatric
residency training at The Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham.
Dr. Albert is a board certified pediatrician and a fellow of the
American Academy of Pediatrics. She is married to Michael who is
an ophthalmology resident at UAB. They are the proud parents of two
sons. Dr. Albert's other interests include snowskiing, golf,
tennis, and reading.
Dr. Marshall Crowther, a native of Clemson, South
Carolina, comes to South Trace Pediatrics after serving as a primary
care sports medicine fellow at the American Sports Medicine Institute
in Birmingham. During his fellowship, Dr. Crowther worked under
world-renowned sports medicine physician, Dr. James Andrews, as well as
with Drs. Larry Lemak, Lyle Cain, Jeffrey Dugas, and Tracy Ray.
He served as team physician for Troy University and Moody High School
during 2006-2007. Dr. Crowther received his medical degree from
the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and has an
undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Clemson University. He
completed a residency in pediatric medicine at Greenville Hospital
System/University Medical Center in Greenville, South Carolina.
Dr. Crowther's professional interests include sports injuries, asthma,
adolescent medicine, and infectious diseases. He enjoys running,
sporting events, and travel in his free time.
